We’re capturing real life heightened into the emotional crux of what makes life worth living and I love working this way - finding the beauty in what’s honest and real. Creating this kind of space starts by allowing time to observe and find the quiet angles, leaving space for this authenticity to blossom. Then when the camera is rolling it’s able to capture all the complexities and paradoxes each shot holds.

This blending of realism and authenticity also allows for mistakes and improvisation so nothing feels so perfect and rehearsed even as the end result is still inspiring. This approach will also translate into our camerawork. It’s not the moment for long steadicam takes that are super choreographed and perfectly composed. It’s handheld, sometimes full of action, sometimes still and observant, always close, a witness to intimacy and human imperfections.

UNDER ARMOUR

Every athlete knows you have to train in a way that bursts you past your breaking point, when it gets tough, when your mind is screaming to stop, you keep going.

We’re right in that moment - the almost collapsing, limbs shaking, heartbeat striking, muscles vibrating like cymbals clanging, so close to that epic finish we can taste the blood, feel the pain and agony, see the sweat - right in that moment where the strength it takes to power through propels us forward.

MERCEDES

Luxury transforms perspectives. It elevates even the smallest of details. But only when it’s the kind of luxury that makes your life easier and more effortless.

The irony here is that our hero guy is getting a completely different luxury than what he originally had in mind.  Maybe he knew what he was in for buying a Mercedes on the grey market, or maybe he’s just realizing now about to find out the hard way, but either way, the emotion in how he responds and how the slow motion exaggerates that contrast between what’s happening versus what he expected will be the perfect line we’ll walk for this campaign.
